One of the biggest advantages is the ability to purchase a home with no down payment in many cases, while also avoiding monthly private mortgage insurance (PMI), which can significantly reduce monthly housing costs.
Many eligible buyers can use a VA loan more than once, and in many situations there are no VA-imposed loan limits when full entitlement is available.
VA loans do require the property to meet minimum property standards and be used as the borrower’s primary residence, not a vacation or investment property.
How Homebuyer Programs Can Work Together
One of the things many buyers don’t realize is that some homebuyer assistance programs can be combined together. This is often called “stacking programs.”
