My Journey to Lime Realty
The Power of Client Appreciation: More Than Just an Event
Moving can be tough. When my family and I relocated from Detroit to Oklahoma City in 2011, we left behind everything we knew family, friends, and the comfort of familiarity. We started fresh in Oklahoma, building a new life, making new friends, and adjusting to a different environment. Just as we had settled in, life took another turn, and in 2018, we moved to Texas. As much as I tried to embrace Texas, my heart never truly left Oklahoma. For three years, I longed to return, missing the friendships I had made and the sense of belonging I had felt.
In 2021, that dream became a reality, we moved back to OKC, but things had changed. The friendships I had cherished weren’t the same, and I found myself feeling lonely all over again. It was a strange feeling to be back in the place I had missed so much, yet still feel like an outsider.

Then, something happened that changed everything. I received an invitation from Amanda Crews to attend a Lime Realty Client Appreciation event. It was the 2021 Fireworks event, and I can still remember the excitement I felt. It wasn’t just an invitation to an event, it was an invitation to feel included, to be part of something again.
When we arrived, Amanda greeted us warmly, handed out gifts to the kids, and took the time to explain how everything worked. She made sure we knew where to find food and drinks, and from that moment on, the night was nothing short of amazing. We laughed, we celebrated, and for the first time in a long time, we felt connected. It was an experience that stayed with me.

A few months later, in October, we received another invitation, this time to Lime’s Halloween Client Event. After having such a great time in July, we couldn’t wait to go. And once again, Lime didn’t disappoint. The event was full of fun, laughter, and a sense of community that had been missing from our lives for too long. I remember Long and his wife, Mary, taking a family picture with us, making us feel welcomed and at home.

Then came 2022, and with it, an invitation to Lime’s Easter Egg Hunt Client Appreciation Event. This time, it wasn’t just about the fun of finding eggs, it was about the little moments that made it special. I still remember the joy of discovering a gift card for a free Starbucks coffee inside one of the eggs. More than that, I remember the conversations with the Lime agents and sponsors, the laughter we shared, and the warmth we felt.
By 2023, these events had become a tradition for my family. We looked forward to them, eager for the memories we knew we would make. That year, I entered the pumpkin carving contest and won the award for “the worst” pumpkin. I still laugh when I think about what Jared said: “Don’t Christmas my Halloween.” It was a simple moment, but one of those inside jokes that stick with you. And even though my pumpkin wasn’t exactly seasonally appropriate, the $250 check I won helped me buy paint and bring new life to our home.
Each event we attended wasn’t just another gathering, it was a reminder that we weren’t alone. We weren’t just clients; we were part of a community. These experiences didn’t just make Lime Realty a name I recognized, they made Lime Realty a part of my family’s story.
That realization changed everything for me.
When 2024 arrived, I knew I wanted to be part of something bigger. I didn’t just want to attend these events. I wanted to be on the other side, creating these moments for others. I wanted to be the one making people feel the way Amanda and the Lime Team had made me feel. So, I called Amanda and asked what I needed to do to start my journey in real estate. She guided me through my options, and I chose online schooling.
When I walked into Lime’s office for my first meeting with Jared, I felt an overwhelming excitement to learn more about the brokerage. The way he explained his vision for Lime Realty, his goals for the future, and his passion for helping his agents grow and excel was just as inspiring as I had imagined.
The first time I attended a Tuesday meeting, I was surprised to see Lydia in person. She had been the online instructor for the real estate exam as she had created all the videos for Kevo University. When I told my children that she was also a Lime agent, they thought it was amazing, after all, they had seen and heard her throughout the month I spent studying. Seeing her in person, right there at Lime, felt like a full-circle moment. Throughout the online course, I admired her depth of knowledge and how well she explained everything. At that moment, I knew without a doubt, I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Now, as a part of Lime Realty, I take immense pride in what we do. These client appreciation events aren’t just about networking or leads, they’re about relationships. They are what set us apart in an industry where people often feel like just another transaction. In a world where names are so easily forgotten and phone calls about buying or selling can feel intrusive, these events make us more than just real estate agents. They make us a part of people’s memories. They create connections that last far beyond the sale of a home.
My first event as an agent was Pictures with Santa, and I enjoyed every moment. From collaborating with the other agents to fine-tuning the smallest details, working with event sponsors, handing out invitations, and ensuring everything was perfectly set up, it was an experience I’ll never forget. Handing out cookies and sharing smiles with the families who attended reminded me why I fell in love with these events in the first place.
For me, these events were life changing. They gave me a sense of belonging when I needed it most. They inspired me to educate myself, become an agent, and join Lime Realty. Not just as a career move, but as a way to give back the same experience that had meant so much to me. Now, I get to be the one extending those invitations, welcoming families, and helping create moments they’ll remember forever.
